[ItsAllAboutMeMan] This Is How It's Done

 

I have sent the following letter to dozens, perhaps hundreds of radio stations now, including the Vatican's station. Time grows short if I'm to have a chance of being the next Pope, so I have to hurry, putting on the last minute campaign push.

When I'm elected Pope, I promise a big gas guzzling Ford in every garage, a chicken in every pot (except for Fridays, when it will be sushi) and 72 virgins waiting for you in paradise when you leave this vale of tears. I borrowed that last one from another religion, but a good idea is a good idea.

Dear Music and/or Program Director:

As you probably know, as both a solo artist, and a member of such ground-breaking rock ensembles such as Wimps, Dweebish, The Waiters, and Julia's Seizure. I've been delivering crunchy, nutty pop music goodness with every earful for nearly 3 decades. Is it any wonder that my loyal fans have proclaimed me "The Pope Of Pop?"  I think not.

My attention has been drawn to the fact that the Catholic Church is currently lacking a Pope by the vast number of people who have begged me to run for the position. After much contemplation and reflection, I have decided to through my mitre into the ring. I know it will be an uphill battle; while I enjoy great name recognition among fans of quality pop music, I am less well known in the loaves and fishes set; I am not now nor have I ever been a member of the Catholic Party.

However, I have written a terrific campaign song that lays out my platform, and I have commissioned some of today's top hip, now, and happening musical talents to compose musical settings. As humbly as I can (being as great as I am) I request you consider reviewing the different versions, and further consider downloading the version(s) that best fit your format, for the purpose of broadcasting.

Dear Ms. Schwab,

I've been notified by your Music Manager, Daniel G Raeder, that I should not contact him about music at the email address listed on the stations website as the contact for the music manager (see below).  He tells me this is a personal email address.  This is confusing to me, as its a public website, and the email address is publicly listed as a contact, but I realize that I'm not that sharpest tool in the shed, and there must be a subtle point here that I'm missing.

I hope that I'm not contacting you at a personal email address, too, since I got this email address from the very same source. 

Since you are The Big Kahuna at the station, I was hoping you could direct my email to the person most qualified to deal with my inquiry.

And please communicate my apologies to Mr. Raeder for referring to him as "Music Director" when he is of course the "Music Manager."  A nearly unforgivable error, the sort I will try to not repeat.

This is the email address that is listed as the contact address for you as Music Director on the WQFS website (http://www.guilford.edu/campus-life/student-life/student-mediapublications/wqfs/). I'm sorry I misconstrued the word "contact" as an invitation to make contact. If you have an email address for your public capacity as music director, I would be happy to contact you at that address. If I misunderstood the words "Music Director" and there is somebody else I should contact at the station about music, I would welcome your assistance.

I think there is only one reasonable question to ask after reading this article, and that is "why does Lucy Forck hate America?" Two reasonable questions. The second is "wouldn't it be a good idea to drone her now before she has a chance to grow up to do harm to the homeland?"
